Sunny Walker Butterfly Garden

Named in honor of one of the founders of East Cobb Park, the Sunny Walker Butterfly Garden is tended entirely by local volunteer, this special garden provides native flora to nourish monarchs and local pollinators throughout the Georgia butterfly season.

About the Sunny Walker Butterfly Garden

  • Honoree: The garden and statue honor Sunny Walker, a dedicated community visionary and founding member who served as the president of the Friends for the East Cobb Park volunteer organization. Read more here in East Cobb News.


  • Significance: Sunny Walker passed away in 2019. She played an instrumental role in originally identifying, purchasing, and converting the 20-acre land into East Cobb's passive community park.

  • The Sculpture: The plaque on the granite base reads "Sunny's Garden." It features a young girl reaching upward with butterflies and birds resting on her arm, symbolizing joy and a connection to the natural world.

  • Welcome to the East Cobb Park Garden Club! We are located at the East Cobb Park in Marietta, GA and affiliated with Friends of East Cobb Park.


  • Our purpose is to support the Friends for East Cobb Park with garden-related activities centered around beautification and education.


  • Our mission is driven by the unique opportunities within East Cobb Park to install and maintain plantings adaptive to the park's environment, that are instructive and enhance the overall experience of visitors of all ages.

  • With the assistance of members, community volunteers and partners, ECPGNC strives to create and present fun, nature-centered programs within the park to expand the visitor experience and knowledge of the relationship between plants and humans.
