and fun for the whole family are provided as a community service to area residents. People interested

HOLIDAY LIGHTS AT EAST COBB PARK!
Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 5 p.m.
This
annual holiday tradition featured a children’s choir, brass quartet, special guest
appearances by Santa Claus and Rudolph, award-winning bell ringers and
the lighting of our live 40-foot tall East Cobb Park tree. Six levels of sponsorship were available – Presenting, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Homeowners
Association, and Friends and Family. The details of these sponsorship levels are listed

Form. Sponsorship donations are tax deductible, as Friends for the East Cobb Park
is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Download

EAST COBB CIVITAN’S 18TH ANNUAL
WINE TASTING & SILENT AUCTION
Wednesday, October 21st at the Indian Hills Country Club
The 18th Annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction is a joint effort of East Cobb
Civitan Club and Friends for the East Cobb Park. The honorary chairman for this event is
Cobb County Commissioner Sam Olens.
Each year over 100 items are offered in the silent auction, as well as the
live auction items and raffles. A wide variety of wines are provided by the Wine Shop
at Parkaire for the tasting. You can look forward to a wonderful event! Click

BIG
BAND CONCERT
Featuring the Gospel Jazz Band
Saturday night, October 10 at 5:00 p.m. in the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church North
Parking Lot*.
Enjoy jazz and big band standards with the vocal stylings of Mary Stephens
and Jim Nordine. Bring a picnic dinner, family and friends, and enjoy the music! Johnson
Ferry Baptist Church will be collecting donations at the event to benefit Friends for
the East Cobb Park. *In the event of rain, the
concert will be held in the Activities Center.
TAI CHI FOR SENIORS will return in Spring 2010
Attention Seniors! Please join us at 10am on the second and fourth Friday
of the month (through October) for Tai Chi for Seniors. Classes have been moved indoors
to Parc at Piedmont's Fitness Center due to the flood-damage at East Cobb Park. Sponsored
by Parc at Piedmont,

'FUN IN THE PARK' Photo Contest
As you and your family enjoy Cobb's parks for your leisure activities, bring
along your camera and take pictures. Submit your best recreation and cultural affairs
photos for the 2009 'FUN IN THE PARKS' Photo Contest. Visit Cobb

ULTIMATE PLAYDATE will return in Spring 2010
Ultimate Playdate, one of the park’s most popular warm-weather events, encourages
families to take an outdoor break for some fresh air and family-friendly music. Each Wednesday
from 4pm to 7pm (weather permitting), Jay Memory, founding member of the national act
Memory Dean, performs old favorites and leads children in sing-alongs.

MOVIE NIGHTS will return in Spring 2010
The Movie Nights series returned to the park with an outdoor screening
of a popular family flick. Admission to the event was free, while concession sale proceeds
benefited Friends for the East Cobb Park.

Friends for the East Cobb Park is a non-profit volunteer organization formed in
1998 to create a community gathering place in East Cobb County. An executive Committee,
a Board of Trustees, and a Board of Advisors work with Committee members to support and
improve the park, its facilities, and programs. Annual memberships
