East Cobb Park Main PlaygroundMAKE A RESERVATION for one of the two large pavilions or the performance stage by contacting Cobb County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Eastern District Office. There is no charge for use of park facilities.

June & July Summer Camps
Toddler Tuesdays & Thursday Classes!

There is something for everyone this summer at East Cobb Park as ARTSCAPE! Director Kent Nulty brings art to the park for children of all ages:

Summer Camps: children entering K-6th grade
Toddler Tuesdaysartists under 4 years of age
 Thursday Classes: children from 5-10 years of age.

IMPORTANT:
Payment is due at registration. Spaces fill quickly. 
Parent/Guardian must complete
Waiver of Liability to complete registration. 

Please arrive on time at 9:00am to camps and/or day classes.
Meet at the East Cobb Park main pavilion. 
ARTSCAPE! June 2015 
Week of June 8-12, 9am-1pm
East Cobb Park 

Open to children entering K-6th grades. 
$150/week, includes art instruction with take home projects. Campers must bring drinks, morning snack and picnic lunch.

Activities include:
  • Tie-dye draw string bags
  • Watercolor journals for daily sketch adventures
  • Clay turtles or frogs
  • Painting birds on wood slices
  • Screen printing using a variety of screens on fabric
  • Nature Sculpture (style of Andy Goldsworthy)
  • Indian jewelry making lesson
  • Abstract Expressionist project (style of Jackson Pollock)
  • Wood block print
  • Terra cotta vase project
ARTSCAPE! July 2015
Week of July 13-17, 9am-1pm

FUN IN THE PARK PHOTO CONTEST WINNERS
Over 80 photos were submitted in 3 categories - General category, Nature and Wildlife, and Sports and Action. With so many great photos submitted, the panel of 7 judges had a difficult time selecting the winning photographs.

Towhee Trail ProgramADOPT-A-SECTION OF THE
TOWHEE TRAIL PROGRAM

Individuals, groups and families have an opportunity to adopt one remaining trail section and tend it, to include removal of non-native or invasive plants, re-establish native tree and plant populations (bought by volunteers or acquired through the Georgia Native Plant Society Rescue Program), remove trash and workday debris.

10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
On Saturday, July 13, Friends for the East Cobb Park celebrated the 10 year anniversary of East Cobb Park! Guests included founders of the park, East Cobb Civitan Club, U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, Georgia State Attorney General Sam Olens, Cobb County Commission Chairman Tim Lee, and Commissioner Bob Ott. An anniversary presentation was followed by games, jumpys, face-painting, refreshments, live music and DJ entertainment!
