East Cobb Park Needs Volunteers
East Cobber
September, 2005

The Friends for the East Cobb Park are looking for volunteers. Even though the park is part of the Cobb County Parks system, its development and future planning has been, from the beginning, directed and primarily funded by Friends for the East Cobb Park.  Friends for the East Cobb Park is a volunteer organization made up of an executive committee, a board of trustees and a board of advisors.  Committees have been formed to support the growth of the park in many aspects.

Committees include:

  • Board and Volunteer Development

  • Communications and Marketing

  • Finance and Budget

  • Fundraising

  • Junior Advisory Board

  • Operations and Community Involvement

  • Site Development and Maintenance

  • Strategic Planning

Committee meetings occur monthly or bi-monthly depending on the level of activity at the time. General meetings are also held several times a year for the entire organization to openly discuss new ideas for the park and help guide its future.  These meetings are also a great opportunity to meet other people in the community and network.

Friends for the East Cobb Park Volunteer Development Committee will be holding informal volunteer information meetings on the first Saturday of teach month beginning at 9am at the East Cobb Park. Dates will include September 3rd, October 1st, November 5th and December 3rd. Information regarding other ongoing programs will also be available.
