Let's Go to the Playground

"I wish they'd build more of these", says Alison Brantley, a Smyrna mother of 21-month-old triplet girls and a frequent visitor of Cobb County's newest park, East Cobb Park. After investigating the county's other parks, Brantley discovered that it's worth taking a half-hour drive to East Cobb with three toddlers at least once a week to give her kids a chance to play at "the only shaded, gated toddler playground in Cobb." Toddlers can climb and slide on their own playset, swings or alligator slide and even practice driving a toy car while the older kids tackle a playscape of their own, complete with fast slides and a rock wall to climb.Parents can watch their children run and play from the numerous benches or spread out a snack on the many shaded or covered picnic tables.

  • Restrooms and water fountains are adjacent to the playground. There are no changing tables.

  • The playground is handicap accessible.

  • Contact Cobb County Parks and Recreation at 770-528-8800 or visit cobbcounty.org for more information.

  • Directions: From I-75, take the Marietta Loop towards Roswell.  Turn onto Roswell Rd. towards Roswell. The park is on your right.
