The Friends for the East Cobb Park are looking for volunteers.
Even though the park is part of the Cobb County Parks system,
its development and future planning has been, from the beginning,
directed and primarily funded by Friends for the East Cobb
Park. Friends for the East Cobb Park is a volunteer
organization made up of an executive committee, a board of
trustees and a board of advisors. Committees have been
formed to support the growth of the park in many aspects.

The Friends for the East Cobb Park are pleased to announce
a collaboration with Mrs. Wylene Tritt, the owner of the property
located on the east side of Sewell Mill Creek across from
East Cobb Park. The agreement reached with Mrs. Tritt
is to establish a permanent easement across her property,
allowing for the connection of East Cobb Park to Fullers Park.
Cobb County Chairman Sam Olens, President of the 2004-05 East
Cobb Park board Woody Snell and East Cobb Park Firnd Ted Jones
finlalized the agreement with Mrs. Tritt on March 10th. Read

Friends for East Cobb Park awarded Community Partnership

Friends
for the East Cobb Park was awarded a Community Partnership
Award by the Cobb County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs,
at the 23rd Annual Volunteer Banquet on November 20, 2003.
The Friends were honored as one of three recipients of their
"Community Partnership Award".
Presented at the banquet was a plaque with the following inscription:
"Community Partnership Award - Presented to Friends for
the East Cobb Park- In grateful recognition of your dedication
in making your dream of East Cobb Park a reality for the Cobb
County Community - 23rd Annual Volunteer Banquet - November
20, 2003". The East Cobb Park was identified as one of
the most popular properties in of the Cobb County park system.

"I wish they'd build more of these", says Alison
Brantley, a Smyrna mother of 21-month-old triplet girls and
a frequent visitor of Cobb County's newest park, East Cobb
Park. After investigating the county's other parks, Brantley
discovered that it's worth taking a half-hour drive to East
Cobb with three toddlers at least once a week to give her
kids a chance to play at "the only shaded, gated toddler
